About Me:
In no particular order, I have been an international entertainment impresario, computer-game and web designer, university professor, theatre and video producer, magazine publisher, advertising art director, TV talent, digital art curator, sports car enthusiast, parent, president of Sundial Media, and cowgirl among other things. My MFA is in performance and multimedia from the University of Calgary, Department of Drama and my interdisciplinary PhD dissertation, “Beyond Fun and Games,” shows the influence that interactive and activist theatre has on digital playspaces. Among my recent artistic endeavors is the forum theatre event Spies in the Oil Sands, and its spin-off computer game “The Pipeline Pinball Energy Thrill Ride Game” which mix live improvisational drama with screen-delivered intermedia and games, peppered with audience participation, and served on a bed of subversive humour. I am also interested in cultural aspects of human-computer interaction (HCI), play in social network environments, and research adventures in far-away corners of the world.
